About Robo:World
Origins and Evolutions
"The origin of the original Bot (Robo:Bot) is not as clear cut as it may seem. Rumour has it that there were infact several prototype Bots (Proto:Bot 1 & Proto:Bot 2) which came before Robo:Bot, but what is known is that they originated within a living breathing world known as Robo:World."
Robo:World. Is the creation of JB. Following a moment of boredom quicky followed by a spark of inspiration an idea was created and followed through. An idea so simple yet appealing that JB was surprised it hadn't been done before... his idea was to create a army of paper Bots that could be a source of amusement and entertainment for his dull desk at work. So Robo:World was born. An online home for JB's Bot growing army of paper Bots.
Evolutions. Following on from the success of the intial Proto:Bots the template for the future Bots was refined and finalised. The Bots were then ready to be designed. During the design and construction process several lessons where learnt which helped to evolve the design of the Bots. An example would be the inclusion of leg guards which help hide the bone structure of the Bots.
A new mission. The main aim of Robo:World and its Bots has always been to have fun during the design and creation of new Bots. However why should the fun be limited to just one person? Robo:World has opened its doors (and files) to the worldwide community and seeks to create a global army of Bots! Designers and constructors everywhere are requested to help in this mission of global conquest.
Why bother? The honset answer would be "Why not?". At the end of the day Robo:World is about having fun and being creative along the way. Want to kill some time or looking for a new mini challenge then why not design a Bot? The best part is that its completely free. All you need is a simple construction kit (if you just want to construct a predesigned Bot) consisting of a sharp knife, some matte or gloss card, a stick of glue and 2x cocktail sticks and you can build your own Bot.
